LOVE LOCKED

Hulger were asked to exhibit our handsets in a container show at Tokyo design week under the theme of ‘Love’. To remind people of the power of phones as a conduit for human relationships we turned the container into a prison visiting room, separating the two sides with glass and only allowing conversations through use of the Hulger handsets.

 

Role play established itself naturally as friends and couple split into prisoners and visitors. The dramatic context created a strong emotional response from visitors who were suddenly imagining being forced apart; their tender words shared between each other through our phones.
