Milanese gallerist, retailer and collector Rossana Orlandi is a legend and was one of Hulger and Plumen’s greatest supporters and enthusiasts. She invited Hulger to show at a number of Salones. As a way of honouring the special relationship, Hulger made the Astor & Sophia Bluetooth special edition phones.

Soft, luxurious, feminine hues created really special products that Rossana sold in her opulent, eclectic boutique in Milan. For the show we showcased the new phones in closed crystal cases as though they were ancient precious artefacts. We even placed a stuffed security guard in the space, a kind of scarecrow to would-be phone-thieves. It created a strange but interesting ambience. Rossana gave us a strange look when we invited her to see the finished installation. But she was happy to support what we were doing because she liked Hulger’s spirit and intent.
