Are wired HULGER phones compatible with all mobile/cell phones?
-Wired HULGER phones are compatible with almost all types
of mobile/cell phone, but in many cases an adaptor is required
-Adaptors for the most popular types of mobile/cell phones are included
with each wired HULGER handset
-Most other adaptors not included can be bought separately, either
through this website or through one of our retailers
-To find out which adaptor you need and whether it is included please
go to the ‘adaptors’ section of this website
How do I connect my HULGER phone to my mobile/cell phone?
-Please read and follow the instructions included
What does the button on my HULGER phone do?
-The button can be used to pick up and hang up calls. However, it does not work with all makes. The button functions with many Nokia and Blackberry phones, but will not work with the iPhone, Motorola and LG. With all other makes it depends on the model of mobile/cell phone
The wired HULGER handsets are impractical when used with your mobile/cell phone.
-They were never intended to be practical
Are they good for my health?
-Tests have shown that using a wired HULGER handset will reduce your exposure to radiation emitted by your mobile/cell phone by around 95%.
Why are the Bluetooth phones not available anymore?
- The Bluetooth phones were not as popular as the wired phones due to their cost and the fact that many people do not like Bluetooth. As a result, we have retired the phones. We have no plans to create more in the future.
Which VoIP services do HULGER handsets work with?
-HULGER handsets will work with all VoIP services
What is VoIP?
-VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol
-VoIP is the name for phone calls that are made using your internet
broadband line rather than a normal landline or mobile network
-The advantage of VoIP is that if you make a call between two people on
the same service then it is free – so a ten-hour call to
someone in the Gobi desert would cost you nothing
-It is also a lot cheaper even when you call a normal landline or
mobile/cell number
-The leading VoIP service is Skype - for information please go to www.skype.com
How do I connect my wired HULGER handset to my PC?
-There are three ways to connect your HULGER handset to
your computer.
-HULGER*BASE: Your HULGER handset will plug directly into a base, and
then the wire (included with the base) will connect to the USB*ADAPTOR,
which in turn plugs into your computer. Works with MAC + PC
-USB*ADAPTOR: Your HULGER handset can also plug straight into the
USB*ADAPTOR. This device will connect to your computer’s USB
port – suitable for laptops only (as the handset wire is not
long enough to plug into the back of most desktops). Works with MAC + PC
-Y*CABLE: Your HULGER handset will plug into the Y*CABLE, which has a
mic and a speaker plug on the other ends, which in turn go into the mic
and speaker sockets at the back of your PC. This product is for PC ONLY
-HULGER*BASES, the USB*ADAPTOR and the Y*CABLE can be bought separately
through this website
Can I use a wired HULGER handset with my Apple Computer?
-Yes, the USB*ADAPTOR is compatible with all Apple
Computers. The USB*ADAPTOR comes included with all wired HULGER*BASES,
or can be bought separately through this website
-The Y*CABLE is not suitable for use with MAC
Do the HULGER*BASES have keypads?
-No
What is the writing on the bottom of the HULGER*BASES?
-They are extracts of letters written by HULGER to his daughter. They are in Danish
Why is there a ‘P’ on the mouthpiece when there is no ‘P’ in HULGER?
-Before we changed our name to HULGER we were called POKIA. We wished to retain some of our heritage in our new handsets and so we continued to use the ‘P’ logo as our mark
Are the handsets an original HULGER idea?
-Yes, the idea originated inside the head of Nicolas Roope not long after the turn of the century. He went onto establish POKIA and we received our first press in Design Week back in 2002. For more information on our History please go to the ‘History’ section of this website
I have seen some similar handsets stores and on the internet?
-If the handsets do not have HULGER and our
‘P’ logo on them, then they were not produced by
HULGER
-There are several people producing cheap versions of our handsets and
claiming the idea as their own. These companies have nothing to do with
us
-There are people selling handsets under the name POKIA on eBay and
other places on the internet – again, these phones have
nothing to do with us. We stopped selling under the name POKIA in early
2005 and have not sold any items on eBay since 2004
Where can I buy a HULGER handset?
-Either on this website or at one of our retailers, a list of which you can find in the ‘Where To Buy’ section
What is the difference between a ‘World’ and ‘US’ version wired HULGER handset?
-The actual handsets themselves are exactly the same
– the only difference is the adaptors that come included
-The ‘World’ version handsets come with the Nokia
1, Nokia 2, Sony Ericsson 1 and Siemens 1 adaptors as these are the
most popular outside of North America and Japan
-The ‘US’ version handsets come with the Nokia 1,
Nokia 2, Sony Ericsson 1, Samsung 1 and Samsung 2 – these are
the most popular adaptors in North America
-Japanese HULGER handsets come with a special adaptor, which works with
Japanese mobile/cell phones
Do HULGER handsets come with a guarantee?
-Yes, all HULGER handsets come with a one-year guarantee. If you have any questions please write to either info@hulger.com
What currency do I pay in?
-Either British Pounds, Euros or US Dollars.
What is PayPal?
-PayPal is an internet payment service – it is a safe and secure way of making payments online. Some people are more confident of making online payments using PayPal rather than their credit cards
My adaptor is broken, what do I do?
-Write to Michael-George at adaptors@hulger.com and he’ll send you a new one. Make sure you remember to let him know what the name of the adaptor is and where he should send it
My wired HULGER handset is not working properly?
-If you are having a problem with your handset, such as
the volume being too low or there being static, please test the HULGER
handset out on one of your friends’ or relatives mobile/cell
phones to check that the problem is not to do with your mobile/cell
phones hands free port being dirty
-If your hands free port is dirty you can try cleaning it –
contact your mobile/cell phone manufacturer to find out how best to do
this
-If the problem is not with your mobile/cell phone then please test
your HULGER handset on a different mobile/cell using a different
adaptor. If that solves the problem then you have a faulty adaptor and
you should let us know by writing to adaptors@hulger.com
so that we can send you a new one
-If you have tried your HULGER handset with different adaptors and on
other mobile/cell phones and the problem persists then you will need to
go to your original retailer and ask for another handset. If that does
not work or you bought your handset through this site, please write to
our engineers at info@hulger.com
and tell them what problem is. They will attempt to resolve the problem
over e-mail, or, if this is not possible, they will ask you to send
your HULGER handset in for examination
