-It is also a lot cheaper even when you call a normal landline or mobile/cell number
-The leading VoIP service is Skype - for information please go to www.skype.com
How do I connect my wired HULGER handset to my PC?
-There are three ways to connect your HULGER handset to your computer.
-HULGER*BASE: Your HULGER handset will plug directly into a base, and then the wire (included with the base) will connect to the USB*ADAPTOR, which in turn plugs into your computer. Works with MAC + PC
-USB*ADAPTOR: Your HULGER handset can also plug straight into the USB*ADAPTOR. This device will connect to your computer’s USB port – suitable for laptops only (as the handset wire is not long enough to plug into the back of most desktops). Works with MAC + PC
-Y*CABLE: Your HULGER handset will plug into the Y*CABLE, which has a mic and a speaker plug on the other ends, which in turn go into the mic and speaker sockets at the back of your PC. This product is for PC ONLY
-HULGER*BASES, the USB*ADAPTOR and the Y*CABLE can be bought separately through this website
How do I connect my Bluetooth HULGER handset to my computer?
-First, please make sure your computer has Bluetooth capability
-Charge the Bluetooth handset and turn on as stated in the instructions.
-Hold down the HULGER button on your Bluetooth handset until it is ready to pair. Then search for Bluetooth devices on your computer
-Once your computer has ‘found’ your Bluetooth HULGER handset, connect to the device, enter the password (0000) and you are set up
-For further information please read the instructions that come with the Bluetooth handset
My computer is not Bluetooth compatible – what can I do?
-You can make your computer Bluetooth compatible by buying a Bluetooth dongle. You can find these online, at sites like Amazon.com, or in any good electronics store
Your Bluetooth HULGER handset is paired with your computer but, either the speaker, mic or both are not functioning properly.
-Should this happen please check the sound settings on your computer and make sure they are set to work with Bluetooth devices. For MAC this means going to ‘System Preferences’, then ‘Sound’, where you will be able to alter ‘Input’ and ‘Output’ options. For PC, go to ‘Control Panel’ and then select the audio settings option
-If that does not solve the problem please check the sound settings with your VoIP service. This is normally found by selecting ‘Preferences’ and then clicking on the ‘Sound’ icon
Will the answer/hang up button work when used with VoIP calls?
-No, this will not function with either the wired or Bluetooth versions

-The Y*CABLE is not suitable for use with MAC
Will the HULGER Bluetooth handsets work with my Apple?
-Most new Apple computers will come with Bluetooth built in as standard and will work straight away with our Bluetooth handsets
-On certain new models, and almost all of the older Apple computers, Bluetooth does not come as standard and you will need a Bluetooth version 2 dongle to make the computer version 2 compatible. After that, the instructions should tell you all you need to know
Do the HULGER*BASES have keypads?
-No
What is the difference between a Wired and a Bluetooth HULGER*BASE?
-The wired bases come with a USB*ADAPTOR and wire which connects the base to the USB*ADAPTOR. The base also has a socket into which you can plug your wired HULGER handset
-The Bluetooth base is a simple stand, whose sole purpose is to support and protect your Bluetooth handset. It has no other functions
What is the writing on the bottom of the HULGER*BASES?
-They are extracts of letters written by HULGER to his daughter. They are in Danish
Why is there a ‘P’ on the mouthpiece when there is no ‘P’ in HULGER?
-Before we changed our name to HULGER we were called POKIA. We wished to retain some of our heritage in our new handsets and so we continued to use the ‘P’ logo as our mark
Are the handsets an original HULGER idea?
-Yes, the idea originated inside the head of Nicolas Roope not long after the turn of the century. He went onto establish POKIA and we received our first press in Design Week back in 2002. For more information on our History please go to the ‘History’ section of this website
I have seen some similar handsets stores and on the internet?
-If the handsets do not have HULGER and our ‘P’ logo on them, then they were not produced by HULGER
-There are several people producing cheap versions of our handsets and claiming the idea as their own. These companies have nothing to do with us
-There are people selling handsets under the name POKIA on eBay and other places on the internet – again, these phones have nothing to do with us. We stopped selling under the name POKIA in early 2005 and have not sold any items on eBay since 2004
Where can I buy a HULGER handset?
-Either on this website or at one of our retailers, a list of which you can find in the ‘Where To Buy’ section

-The ‘US’ version handsets come with the Nokia 1, Nokia 2, Sony Ericsson 1, Samsung 1 and Samsung 2 – these are the most popular adaptors in North America
-Japanese HULGER handsets come with a special adaptor, which works with Japanese mobile/cell phones
Do HULGER handsets come with a guarantee?

What is PayPal?
-PayPal is an internet payment service – it is a safe and secure way of making payments online. Some people are more confident of making online payments using PayPal rather than their credit cards
My adaptor is broken, what do I do?
-Write to Aimée at adaptors@hulger.com and she’ll send you a new one. Make sure you remember to let her know what the name of the adaptor is and where she should send it
My wired HULGER handset is not working properly?
-If you are having a problem with your handset, such as the volume being too low or there being static, please test the HULGER handset out on one of your friends’ or relatives mobile/cell phones to check that the problem is not to do with your mobile/cell phones hands free port being dirty
-If your hands free port is dirty you can try cleaning it – contact your mobile/cell phone manufacturer to find out how best to do this
-If the problem is not with your mobile/cell phone then please test your HULGER handset on a different mobile/cell using a different adaptor. If that solves the problem then you have a faulty adaptor and you should let us know by writing to adaptors@hulger.com so that we can send you a new one
-If you have tried your HULGER handset with different adaptors and on other mobile/cell phones and the problem persists then you will need to go to your original retailer and ask for another handset. If that does not work or you bought your handset through this site, please write to our engineers at info@hulger.com and tell them what problem is. They will attempt to resolve the problem over e-mail, or, if this is not possible, they will ask you to send your HULGER handset in for examination
